I think the fact that two men on Queer Eye have started dating women who were already in their lives should clue men into the fact that there could be women in their lives that care for them deeply and even romantically, and would date them, if they knew that dating wouldn’t include being their fucking mother and teaching them the basics of taking care of themselves as a grown ass adult.

Good morning to everyone except the cop that made Karamo stop his car in Queer Eye as a joke and literally terrified him and the other four making them think he was getting racially profiled

Agreed but also fuck the show producer who thought that was clever, because you know he did not just find them traveling down a road. Someone thought that was a good idea in the writers room.

Important things to note:

• Jonathan had his phone out to record in case something went wrong and they needed proof of what happened
• Tan and Karamo both almost quit on the spot
• It was planned for Bobby to be driving, but Karamo insisted on driving
• N o t s c r i p t e d they were legitimately scared
• Also either way it wasn’t a good idea regardless so don’t make excuses for it??
• Also they found a maga hat and found other pro trump signs in his house later + that conversation between Karamo and cory in the car was super forced and uncomfortable

Tldr fuck that episode 🙃

Honestly you explained this better than I ever could, I don’t want this dismissed as “oh but it was a joke” because a black man in the south terrified to be pulled over by a cop and then having to be friendly with a pro trump cop is not funny at all to me.

I want it also noted that A+ on the other boys for instantly being prepared to stand with Karamo – even though they also had valid reason to fear for their safety if they did on multiple levels.

All of those boys had a reason to fear – gay men being pulled over by cops in the south and made victims of violent homophobia is not at all uncommon. Fag drags, beatings, arrests, and shootings still happen over sexual orientation or gender orientation.

F- to anyone who thought this was a good idea period: this episode is the only one I have a problem with, and the entire thing was a really forced piece of attempted ‘we can all get along so gay rights supporters need to suck it up and stop no longer associating with Trump supporters’ propaganda. F- to the fact that if Karamo had not been driving, no one really would have understood the terror those boys still would have felt.

It was literal bs.

I would have supported all of them quitting right then. I’d rather no more Queer Eye but Karamo and the other 4 safe from that triggering bs than the opposite.
