I caution people to look at what kind of “payments” they’re getting. For example, my PCP got something like $2,000 in 2016 - all but $5 of that had been considered payments when really it was a representative from the company bringing food and passing out information on medications. I work nights now, so it’s not common for me to see reps, but in nursing school I would sit in on these lunches occasionally (depending on what floor I had been on). They really do just bring in Panera or Panda Express and try to say their but while the nurses and doctors shovel food in their faces.

I encourage people to look at this site. Be informed. If your doctor is starting a new med that you see that got a large non-food related kickback from, ask them about that shit. Don’t be afraid to - it is your health. But know that because they got money or food from some company doesn’t mean it isn’t an appropriate medication for you

If you have *any* questions about payments to your doctor because you found them on that site, ask them. Your doctor should be open about it.
